The game is on Friday, January 1, 2027. The bowl announced the date in February (“2026-27 Season: Friday, Jan. 1, 2027”) and said “specific game times and television network assignments will be announced at a later date.”
As of , the College Football Playoff’s own schedule still lists the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl as “January 1, 2027 · TBD,” and the game is not yet on Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s events list. Kickoff time and network: not yet announced. We check every week and will add both here.
Who plays in the Peach Bowl?
Not decided yet. The 2027 Peach Bowl is a College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, so both teams come from the 12-team playoff bracket set by the CFP selection committee. The other New Year’s Day quarterfinals are the Cotton Bowl and the Rose Bowl, and the Fiesta Bowl is on Dec. 30.
The winner moves on to a semifinal at the Orange Bowl (Jan. 14) or the Sugar Bowl (Jan. 15). On the bowl’s ticket FAQ, the higher-ranked team is the home team, on the Section 108C–112C side of the field; the lower-ranked team sits on the Section 126C–130C side.
How do you get Peach Bowl tickets?
- Official seller: the bowl’s ticket page calls Ticketmaster its “Official Ticket Marketplace” and links the Jan. 1, 2027 event. Prices are set by seat on Ticketmaster. The bowl also takes enquiries for ticket packages through a form on the same page.
- Everyone needs a ticket: per the bowl’s ticket FAQ, “everyone, regardless of age, requires a ticket,” under its contract with the College Football Playoff. That includes toddlers.
- Mobile only: tickets are delivered to your phone through the Peach Bowl, Inc. app and your Ticketmaster account. No smartphone? The bowl asks you to email tickets@cfabowl.com. Souvenir tickets are sold separately and mailed after the game.
- Game day: the box office is at Gate 1. Some tickets may be on sale there on game day, but the bowl says that is not guaranteed, and it does not hold tickets at will call (transfer them digitally instead).
- Refunds and resale: the bowl refunds tickets bought through its office only if the game is cancelled. Its official Ticketmaster exchange lets you resell at face value once the exchange opens. We don’t link to other resale sites.
- Alcohol: served on all levels until the start of the third quarter, per the bowl.
- Accessible seating: fans who need to swap tickets for ADA seating can do it at Guest Services, Section 116, on game day.
What is the Peach Bowl Fan Night at the Georgia Aquarium?
The Georgia Aquarium has announced its annual Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Fan Night for Thursday, December 31, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m., priced at $42.99. Fans can explore all the galleries, and a 4 p.m. pep rally will feature each team’s cheerleaders and mascots.
The Coastline Café food court and adult beverage stations are open for purchase from 2 to 5 p.m. The aquarium says its dolphin presentation will not run on Dec. 31. (Its event text calls the game a playoff “Semifinal”; the bowl and the CFP list this year’s game as a Quarterfinal.) It is a few blocks from the stadium, and our Georgia Aquarium tips cover parking and timing.
Other official fan events: the bowl’s ticket FAQ says each Peach Bowl ticket “includes a FanFest ticket,” but no 2027 FanFest date, place or schedule is posted on chick-fil-apeachbowl.com yet. Not yet announced – we check weekly.
How do you get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Peach Bowl?
- MARTA (the stadium’s top pick): $2.50 each way to SEC District Station (formerly GWCC/CNN Center), “right at the doorstep” of the stadium. Vine City Station is the other stop nearby. The MARTA Rapid A-Line also stops at South Downtown, a short walk away. Fares and service: itsmarta.com. (The bowl’s own parking page still uses the station’s old name.)
- Parking: buy event parking from the stadium at parking.mercedesbenzstadium.com; the stadium warns fans to take care buying parking passes from resale markets. The bowl’s parking page also offers game-day lots and 3-day RV parking.
- Tailgating: allowed only in The Home Depot Backyard (a grass lot off Northside Drive by Gate 1) and the Marshalling Yard (a paved lot with entrances off Ivan Allen Blvd., about a 10-minute walk to Gate 1). All tailgating must end 30 minutes after kickoff, per the bowl.
- Rideshare: Zone 1 is GWCC Bus Lane C on Northside Drive (best from Gate 1, heading north); Zone 2 is South Downtown, on Broad Street between Trinity and Mitchell streets (best from Gates 2–4, toward the airport, I-20 and I-75/85). Each is about a 10-minute walk. If waits are long, the stadium suggests Vine City Station (Blue/Green Line) or Garnett Station (Red/Gold Line).
- Road closures: not yet announced for Jan. 1, 2027 (checked ). We will add them here once the City of Atlanta or Atlanta police post them.

What can you bring into the stadium?
- Clear bags: clear plastic, vinyl or PVC up to 12 × 6 × 12 inches (clear backpacks, fanny packs and cinch bags count if they fit), or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, per the stadium’s guidelines.
- Small bag: a non-clear bag up to 4.5 × 6.5 inches, carried with a clear bag.
- Parents, note: diaper bags that don’t meet the clear-bag rule are turned away, and so are chairs and booster seats, outside food, and bottles or cans.
- Smoke-free: the stadium is a non-smoking, non-vaping and tobacco-free campus, including the gate plazas.
Is the Peach Bowl a good trip with kids?
- Every child needs a ticket: unlike some Atlanta events, the Peach Bowl has no free entry for babies or toddlers.
- Pack light: plan on a clear bag for diapers and snacks for the walk, since outside food isn’t allowed in.
- New Year’s Eve first: for a calmer night before, see the early countdowns in our New Year’s Eve in Georgia guide (Zoo Atlanta’s daytime party, Stone Mountain’s 9 p.m. countdown).
- Weather: the game is indoors. Outside, NOAA’s 1991–2020 normals give Atlanta a January average high of 54.0°F and low of 35.6°F, so bring a warm layer for tailgating and the walk from MARTA. See Georgia weather by month.
- Make a weekend of it: Garden Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden runs nightly until Jan. 10, and Stone Mountain Christmas runs until Jan. 3. Other big games at the same stadium: the SEC Championship Game (Dec. 5) and the Celebration Bowl (Dec. 12).
