Short answer

Northwest Georgia has two big state parks and three Cherokee and Mississippian-era historic sites within about an hour of each other. The parks (Cloudland Canyon and Fort Mountain) charge $10 per vehicle for parking; the historic sites (Etowah Indian Mounds, New Echota and Chief Vann House) charge their own admission, $4 to $8 a person, and the parking pass does not cover them. Everything below was checked on the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites pages.

This is the first guide in our Northwest Georgia section. The region on our map takes in Bartow, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Dade and eight neighboring counties. We start with the five state-run places because their hours and fees are published in one place and are the easiest to check. Hours and fees change, so confirm on the park’s page before a long drive; each stop below links to it.

How much does it cost to visit Northwest Georgia’s state parks and historic sites?

A day that combines one park with one historic site therefore costs $10 for the car plus the admissions, all checked .
