Short answer
Two historic sites sit outside Savannah’s Historic District: Fort Pulaski National Monument on Cockspur Island, which charges the National Park Service’s $10 entrance fee and admits anyone 15 and under free, and Wormsloe State Historic Site, where adults pay $12 plus tax.
Both pages below come from the National Park Service and Georgia State Parks. Our own place page for Wormsloe has more on the site.
Read this first: the prices, hours and rules on this page repeat what the National Park Service and Georgia State Parks pages named under Sources said when we read them on November 3, 2026. They can change, so check the current page of each place, or ask the park itself, before you rely on them. Anything we could not confirm is marked Not confirmed where it appears and listed under What We Could Not Confirm.

Putting Them Together
Treat them as two separate trips: one on the east side of the city toward Tybee, the other on the south side toward Skidaway Island. We did not read a source for the drive between them, so plan each on its own. Pair either with a morning in the Historic District using our 3-day plan, 2-day plan or 4-day plan.
What We Could Not Confirm
- Fort Pulaski opening hours, ferry or bridge details and tour times: the NPS hours page was blank. Call (912) 219-4233.
- Drive time from the Historic District to Fort Pulaski and to Wormsloe: the pages we read do not give it, and we have not driven it for this page.
- Whether the $10 ParkPass is charged at Wormsloe on top of admission: the pages we read do not say.
- Water, insect and wildlife safety on the marsh trails: not researched. Ask the site.
