Why is Georgia–Florida in Atlanta this year?
The rivalry is normally played in Jacksonville, Florida. For 2026 it moves to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Florida’s ticket page says the 2027 game will be in Tampa, with future games back in Jacksonville (checked ). The schools haven’t explained the moves on the pages we read, so we don’t guess at the reason here.
How do you get tickets?
- Through the schools: Florida sold its allocation to football season-ticket holders June 3–30, 2026, by booster priority, with a limit of 12 tickets per account. Georgia handles its own allocation; ticket links are on the Georgia game center.
- General public: Florida’s page says the general public buys from Mercedes-Benz Stadium; when we checked, the stadium’s event page listed suites and a tailgate experience rather than a public on-sale date. Check the stadium’s events page before you buy anywhere else.
- Resale: resale listings exist, often far above face value. We don’t link to them; buy from the teams or the stadium when you can.

How do you get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium?
- MARTA (the stadium’s top pick): $2.50 each way to SEC District Station, the stop formerly called GWCC/CNN Center, right by the stadium. After the game, Vine City (Blue/Green) and Garnett (Red/Gold) are the stadium’s suggested backups if the lines are long.
- Parking: pre-buy at parking.mercedesbenzstadium.com. The stadium says there are more than 20,000 spaces within a 20-minute walk but that parking often sells out before an event.
- Rideshare: two zones, each about a 10-minute walk. Zone 1 is GWCC Bus Lane C on Northside Drive (best from Gate 1, heading north). Zone 2 is on Broad Street between Trinity and Mitchell streets (best from Gates 2–4, toward the airport, I-20 and I-75/85).
- Entry: any gate; floor-seat holders must use the floor line near Gate 1.

What can you bring into the stadium?
- Clear bags only: clear plastic, vinyl or PVC up to 12 × 6 × 12 inches (clear backpacks, fanny packs and cinch bags included if they fit), or a one-gallon clear freezer bag.
- Small bag: a non-clear clutch up to 4.5 × 6.5 inches, carried with a clear bag.
- Everything else is turned away. The stadium recommends no bag at all for the fastest entry.
- Bag check: The Mobile Locker Company stores bags for a fee at Gate 1 (Northside Drive sidewalk) and Gate 2 (Andrew Young International Boulevard), from about 2 hours before most major events. Card or contactless only.
Is it a good trip with kids, and what about Halloween?

- Kids’ tickets: the pages we read don’t spell out an age under which children get in free, so assume every child needs a ticket and check with the seller.
